PADJADJARAN ACCOUNTING WEEK

Padjadjaran Accounting Week (PAW) has been around for 19 years, established with a commitment to encourage participants to develop themselves beyond their abilities so they can compete in the professional world. Nowadays, climate change is one of the most pressing challenges facing the world today. Its impacts have been felt throughout the world, in the form of extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and loss of biodiversity. Addressing these challenges requires collective and coordinated action from individuals, businesses, and governments. Financial reporting and carbon pricing are two important tools that can be used to encourage action on climate change. Continuous disclosure in financial reporting provides information to investors and other stakeholders regarding climate-related risks and opportunities faced by the company. Carbon pricing through carbon trading and carbon taxes is a mitigation measure that imposes a cost on greenhouse gas emissions, thereby incentivizing companies and individuals to reduce their emissions. Therefore, Padjadjaran Accounting Week raised this issue so that accounting science plays a role in overcoming this issue.
